Stanthorpe is only a 2.5 to 3 hour scenic drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast and is well known as the coldest town in Queensland . If you are lucky, you may even see snow! The summers are blessed with warm days and cool enjoyable nights and the winters are cool and crisp in the mornings followed by beautiful cool days which are ideal for relaxing by the fireplace enjoying a glass of our award winning wines and some local cheese.  Stanthorpe is also a place where you can pick fresh strawberries, visit lavender farms or enjoy the beauty of orchards in bloom during spring and the intoxicating colour of autumn as the foliage changes from green to gold.  Discover the breathtaking views from the heights of Girraween National Park with waterfalls, local fauna and flora and amazing rock formations and walking tracks. Explore the Markets in the Mountains, sip coffee, visit the ice creamery or art galleries and antique craft shops or stroll through the local shops.

After a romantic dinner at one of the award winning restaurants close by, wander slowly back to Dillons Cottage for a warm, comfortable night's rest.
